Personal Favor - Very Important
Nathan Ing is a six-year-old boy who has Choroid Plexus Carcinoma. It is an extremely rare form of brain cancer (less than 1% of childhood brain cancer). He was diagnosed in December 2006; has gone through multiple surgeries and chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
We just learned yesterday the latest tests show the cancer has returned with a vengeance. He has six tumors in the brain and one on his spinal cord. The doctors could not give his parents a time frame on how long he has to live, but it is not long. They will give Nathan a chemo pill that is supposed to help slow the cancer a bit, but it will not stop it or hold it off for long.
Nathan is fatigued right now. Paul, his father, said the doctors advised them to move up a planned trip to Disney World (donated by a generous person) they had scheduled for October. Nathan just will not be able to make that trip as the cancer progresses.

A Little About The Ings
Paul and Missy Ing are strong, faithful members where I preach. In addition to Nathan, they have a daughter Marissa (9).
They are troopers. The past 18 months has been very difficult for them as their baby boy has gone through many trials and troubles. Their faith has been amazingly strong and inspired/shamed many of us.
Paul works at a printing company and Missy is a stay-at-home mom. They have juggled things as best they can, and done a good job at it, to see that Nathan and Marissa are cared for. Their attendance at church has not been affected, though once-in-a-while Nathan has been sick from chemo or radiation and they have alternated attending on Sundays.

My Personal Request To You
Please pray intensely and repeatedly for Paul, Missy, Marissa, and Nathan. Now, more than ever, they need the Lord and the comfort only He affords. Their faith is strong, but Satan is working hard to destroy it.
There will no doubt be many hard days ahead with sadness, uncontrollable weeping, and plain numbness. Anyone with children can imagine. Some of you may have been through something similar. They are our brethren and need our help.
Further, Paul requested his employer change his work schedule to have more time at home. They would not do this but said they would be flexible as long as he got is 40 hours in. He will still need to take time off to spend with his son in his last days. His paid-time off is pretty much exhausted and they cannot financially afford to not have income. They live modestly and are not materialistic or wasteful. They also have expenses piling up, as you can imagine. |
