Weekly Newsletter - Feb. 27, 2008
Puppies have sharp teeth! Lizzie, our new puppy, got me the other
day. She was going for the rope toy and overshot. My finger
suffered the consequences, but it's really no big deal.
Things continue to go well on the health front. I have not been
sick since my birthday, back on December 7. I cannot remember when
I went this long last – maybe 12 or 13 years. Seriously. The
medicine the doctor put me on is working. I believe the
prayers offered on my behalf have been answered (Jas. 5:16). Truly,
God is good!
Web Site Will Launch Later This Week
The new web site is almost ready to launch. Lord willing, I will be
able to open the gates on Friday. It has taken a great deal of work
and will continue to demand quite a bit. It is, however, a labor of
love. Those who have had access to it have given positive feedback.
Some incentives will be offered to a limited number of people who
act quickly when the site launches. Here are some of the bonuses
that will be offered:
The first 50 people to sign up will receive a copy of the Truth
Commentary on Galatians in electronic format (PDF).
The first 20 will also receive a $10 gift certificate to Truth
Bookstore in Bowling Green, KY.
The first 10 will also get Scripture plaques by Dana Rush,
PowerPoint CDs of the History and Geography of the Bible by Richard
Thetford, and more.
Additional fast-action bonuses will be listed on the web site when
it launches.
I will send an email announcing when the doors are open.

Do You Give Thanks For Saints?
Paul wrote, “We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in
Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints” (Col. 1:3, 4).
This is a beautiful sentiment and one worthy of duplication.
Sometimes we overlook the ones closest to us. We take them for
granted. This is not only true with families, but also with
brethren. We ought to thank God for the Christians in the church
where we are a member. We should also thank Him for those in other
places, as Paul did with the Colossians.
The faith of others helps us. It may be they have a direct impact
on our life as we come into contact with them. There are also those
we will never meet, but nonetheless have helped us tremendously.
Who helped teach and influence the elders or preacher where you
worship? Who trained your spouse in the way of the Lord? Was it
just his or her parents, or were there others involved including
Bible class teachers—often women who are little noticed or praised,
if at all.
The point is, give thanks for the saints; locally and elsewhere.
Give thanks for their impact on this dark and sinful world. Be
thankful there were others who have and do help you; that encourage
you to be steadfast in the faith.

Take the “Hardest Question” survey.
Readers submitted what they consider to be some of the hardest
questions people ask them or they have themselves. Many of them
have been put on the survey for you to vote for the hardest
question. Go there now and pick one.
Take survey.
If you have a different one, let me know. Just reply to this email
with the question.
All the best,
